Advertisement of Quran-Synonyms Project for Facebook

A group of brothers and sister volunteers have decided to translate the most famous Mutaraadifaat ul Qur'an thesaurus (1000pages) from Urdu into English.

To make the work easier to complete, we've decided to search for more Volunteers who can aid us in completing this project.

The more people who get involved, the sooner we can complete the book
and add it to a website and publish in book form.

If you're interested in getting involved, you can get a preview of the
book from here (we have divided it into 10page splits):

You can join us at the following on this blog to get involved:

The Mission: the Aim is to get 10 leaders, each leader finds 10 volunteers who work below him/her.

this way, if each person (total people:100) just translated 10pages (which only takes around 1hour), we could complete the entire book within this year! Inshaa' Allah.

If you want to be a volunteer leader, or volunteer - we have a sisters group, and some brother groups.

You can contact us at the following email to get involved:

Assalamu3alaikum waRahmatullahi waBarakatuhu all,

Bismillah... Alhamdulillah wassalaatu wassalaamu 3alaa Rasulillah. Sallellahu 3laihi wasallam. May Allah enable us to begin & end this project with His name and make our efforts purely for His sake. Ameen.

Snapshot of the # of entries in book

In this part of the project, we are planning to simply write out the Arabic synonyms from the first index. This index is ordered according to the urdu alphabet, but people who can read Arabic (and don't know Urdu) can still get involved.

How To: - Layout the Translating

As-salaamu alaykum wa Rahmatullah wa barakaatuh

Alot of people have said they find it difficult to translate the Urdu dictionary, but I will explain how this is extremely easy inshaa' Allah. People with elementary urdu understanding will realise through this method how easy it can be inshaa' Allah.

Word (meaning):

Synonyms:
1 - (meaning) (quran reference)
2 - (meaning) (quran reference)

Next word...

Example:

I had to translate the word 'Ahad' into English:

Word: 'Akeyla' (to be One)

Synonyms:
1 - Ahad: to be One without a second (2nd). This is often used for God. (Quran Ikhlas 112:1)
2 - Waahid: a creation who is unique, an individual. (Quran : )
3 - Fard: One thing from a group of other things. (Quran : )

Next word...

Do you see how easy it is?
All you need to know is understand the urdu at a basic level, and then translate it into how you understood the Urdu sentence (it doesn't even have to be a literal word for word translation.)

If this has inspired you, are you willing to get involved in translating the Urdu? If yes, just comment here.

As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh

http://www.scribd.com/doc/79675625/Mutaradifaat-ul-Quran-in-Urdu-by-Abdur-Rahman-al-Kilaani-original-work-in-Arabic-Raghib-al-Isfahani

We will be transcribing the Arabic Synonyms index from the book contents page:

Urdu page numbers: P11 - P34 | English page numbers: P29 - P53

QD - Letter Alif

ahmad - Letter Ba - ta

LM - Pey to Qaf
(Transcribing - Urdu page #: P15 - P27 | English: P33 - P45)

We need volunteers who will help transcribe the rest of the Alphabet letters.

Difficulty: This task is easy if you have basic knowledge of Urdu and Arabic, and does not require Translation.

MAIN PROJECT: Volunteer Teams & their Objectives

As salaamu alaykum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakaatuh

Team 1: Sisters Team (led by V.I. and UrwatulWuthqa): completing Pages 1-100 by next year. (2013)

Team 2: Umer's MSA team. completing pages 101-200 by next year. (2013)

Team 3: Ahmad's team: looking for more volunteers and completing pages 201-300 by next year (2013).

Team 4: LM: looking for more volunteers and completing pages 301-400.

We are looking for 6 more volunteer leaders, and many more volunteer translators (possibly 10 in each team), which will involve translating just 10 pages from the book each.

If we are able to do this by next year (100 people translating 10 pages each), we will have translated 1000pages and completed translation of the entire book. This is our main aim.
